其實不同類型的遮瑕膏質地和色調各不一樣，需要對「症」下藥，不能全面使用同一質地的遮瑕膏。

1) 膏狀遮瑕膏質地：厚身，較乾遮瑕度：高延展力：低持妝度：高適用位置：面部／較易出油部份不適用位置：細紋／眼底黑眼圈2) 液狀遮瑕膏質地：薄身，水潤遮瑕度：中等延展力：高持妝度：較低適用位置：眼底黑眼圈／鼻翼／暗瘡不適用位置：易出油的 T字位或暗瘡印色調黑眼圈分為三種色調，應先調色再遮瑕，遮瑕膏應選擇比膚色淺一度的色調。

1) 偏紫藍色－先以橙調或偏啡調的矯色霜中和以修飾暗沉感。

2) 啡紅色－以蜜桃色調中和。

3) 青藍色－以橙紅色或偏少紅調和打亮。

暗瘡印和色斑：不需要特別選擇淺一度的色調，貼近膚色就足夠。要留意的是如果粉底偏黃就應選擇相同色系的遮瑕膏色調，否則難以融合。

暗瘡：可先以綠色調色霜全臉使用，中和泛紅問題，再遮瑕就不會有愈遮愈明顯的問題。質地方面亦應選擇較滋潤的液狀遮瑕膏，以免太乾而脫皮。
