相信每個新娘子在拍婚照時，都會小心翼翼地對待身上的婚紗，深怕會弄髒劃破。美國的新娘子偏偏反行其道，流行在big day之後"Trash the Dresses "，用盡辦法毀掉婚紗來拍照，新娘子大可將結婚的壓力狠狠發洩出來！
"Trash the Dresses "的源起眾說紛云，其中有說是拉斯維加斯婚照攝影師John Michael Cooper在2001年發起；亦有人說1998年荷里活電影 《Sunset Beach》一幕，Meg Cummings 穿著婚紗置身海中，帶起了風潮。孰真孰假不得而知，不過，這種瘋狂的拍攝手法，的確令新人和攝影師有更大的發揮空間。

6年前，美國有六位攝影師以"Trash the Dresses "之名，發起慈善活動，他們分別是Grant Romancia,Mandy Harding, Danielle Stasiuk, Gina Yesnik, Vanessa Savage 和 Lisa Krystchuk。他們每年都會找來新娘子拍攝，由新娘子將訊息推而廣之，籌募善款，聽說今年就為兒童基金（the Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan）籌得美金$25,000，成績不俗。
