公元140 年，強大的羅馬大軍佔據當時大不列顛，將士馬克•阿基拉饒勇善戰，但在他心中一直有著強烈的仇恨；因為20 年前，貴為羅馬第九軍統領的父親，戰績彪炳，受人敬仰，卻在一次攻打北方蠻夷之時，連同5000 大軍與象徵無上榮譽的鷹徽，一同失蹤。這件事一直是馬克心裏的傷痕，失去鷹徽更是對他家族莫大的侮辱，因此他一直希望可以親自再闖北夷之地，尋回鷹徽及解開父親及大軍失蹤之謎。<br>

一次馬克因戰受傷回家休養之時，偶然在競技場裏救回一名北夷俘擄，卻從此與他的命運扯上，這位俘擄艾斯卡不計他跟馬克的民族仇恨，自願追隨馬克，成為了他的奴隸，為報答馬克，更答應跟隨他一同深入敵方尋回失落了20 年的鷹徽，這對主僕沿途遭到襲擊，出生入死，建立了手足之情，此時馬克卻發現艾斯卡的身份殊不簡單，更與父親和鷹徽失蹤有著微妙的關係，對方究竟是敵是友？<br>

兩人之間的忠誠亦備受考驗，此時兩人卻遇上了北方兇猛強悍的彩身族戰士襲擊，二人深陷險境?br />
