全片記錄了一把傳奇菜刀怎樣輾轉相傳、流落於各有動機的人物手上，推動了各人命運。在三個環環互扣的故事裡，殺豬匠、啞巴和刀客以為借助利刃的力量，能滿足一的慾望，最終不過是轟烈地演繹出貪心、嗔恨與痴想的瘋狂荒誕， 事情結果都出乎他們意料。<br>

殺豬匠少三兩為了一巾飄落的桃花手絹，對萬花樓花魁寐娘一見鍾情，執意的憨莽追求，換來全青樓上下嘲笑、江湖惡霸一刀仙盡情凌辱。內心脆弱的少三兩賭氣尋死，卻意外得到一把無堅不摧菜刀?就在少三兩幻想自己成了一刀仙的時候，才知道桃花手絹是個更大妄想。<br>

由名廚八大鏟掌舵的食店俏江南，收了一心要向嗜食嗜殺大公公報仇的啞巴為雜役。啞巴設計以「好一碗蝦湯」手藝和忠心護主贏得八大鏟傳授絕活；八大鏟亦準備好應付大公公駕臨可能帶來的劫數。啞巴為爭取手刃仇人機會而毒殺師傅，但明知菜肴有毒的八大鏟沒有怪責啞巴，只是告訴了他一個故事──一個在啞巴行刺「不遂」後不無諷刺的故事。 <br>

江湖刀客獨孤成不惜刨了父親的墓，兄弟相殘，就是?了得到集頂尖高手武器熔成的絕世玄鐵，威逼已退隱的鑄玄鐵刀匠唐胖子，?自己打造「天下第一刀」。唐胖子反抗無效，摸著鐵匣上「豬、雞、蛇」互銜花紋似有所悟，斷然取鐵給獨孤成打一把刀。但唐胖子沒有違背自己不再煉刀誓言，他知道使刀的刀客，最讓人傷心?<br>
