<p></p><div><br></div>少女楊玉環（范冰冰飾）為國喪領舞，唐明皇（黎明飾）不覺傾心。唐明皇的寵妃武惠妃 (陳沖飾) 擔心楊玉環成為她的威脅，謊稱楊玉環是她為兒子壽王（吳尊飾）選定的王妃。楊玉環成了壽王的妻子、皇上的兒媳，入宮後楊玉環對政治和權鬥毫無興趣，但武惠妃為壽王爭取太子之位，設計陷害太子謀反，致使三個皇子被處死，武惠妃亦陰謀敗露，自刎身亡。<div><br></div><div>壽王為了完成母親遺願，以及無法面對父皇對楊玉環的愛慕，將楊玉環送給父皇以換取太子之位。唐明皇雖然強娶了楊玉環。但楊玉環最初對唐明皇並無愛意，兩人的感情要在經過政治鬥爭的壓力和宮廷日常生活才越走越近，楊玉環終於愛上了唐明皇。但兩人的好日子並不長久，「安史之亂」爆發，楊玉環成為皇朝最高政治鬥爭的核心......</div><div><br></div><p></p>
